We passed by this old building with a whirrrr one day and I knew that I had to turn around and see what it could be. This is the Talley Station General Store in Petersburg, Tennessee. What’s left of it anyways. Samuel Talley was the postmaster in 1879 so I’m guessing the little store was named for him. This general store once stood along the Duck River Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad. After the railroad boom was over, the tracks were abandoned and eventually removed. US 431 now runs the same as the tracks used to. I can just imagine all the hustle and bustle this little store once saw!
