The William Kirby Walsh House in Jackson, Tennessee was completed in 1875. It’s an I-house design and has lots of Italianate features. It started as one room in depth, but soon after, a two-story ell was added. This home and the one next it are the only survivors of the McNairy Hill neighborhood from the 1860s and 1870s. The neighboring home was a wedding gift to Walsh’s daughter in 1872. Walsh was a successful businessman in Jackson and was into real estate investing and banking. This house has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1993.
