I’ve got another Wartrace gem for you today! This home was built in 1900 with a Queen Anne influence. I met the sweet owner of this home and she shared a little history with me about the significance of the brick used to build her home. It seems that Wartrace had a distinguished educational history and was home to a school that students came to from as far as Oklahoma. Several homes in the town were used as boarding houses for students. The school was built from bricks handmade on a kiln at nearby Wartrace Creek. The school was eventually torn down in the late 1800s and 3 homes were built with the bricks from the school building. Her home is one of them! I love all of the Victorian details that this house has. Such a beauty!
