Last Surviving Home of James K. Polk

Check out the last surviving house (other than the White House) of the 11th president of the United States, James K. Polk. It was constructed in 1816 by his father, Samuel Polk. When James graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1818, he returned to this home to live until he married Sarah Childress in 1824. It’s now a museum that you can tour!
