The Wilkinson-Keele House was built in 1888. The bricks used to build the home were made on-site and it has retained a lot of its original details. It’s a Queen Anne, but I think it has some Italianate characteristics, don’t you? This is only one of two Victorian era houses in Manchester, Tennessee. J.G. Wilkinson was an active businessman in the community. In 1903 he moved to Texas, but kept his Manchester house as a summer home. He later died in Fort Worth, but was brought back to be buried with his wife in the little town of Hillsboro where he was originally from. The current owners seem to really care for the house well and it’s been restored beautifully!
