The Neely Hotel was built circa 1911 in Jackson, Tennessee. It was located on a major thoroughfare and directly across the street from the passenger train depot. It was constructed to replace a smaller frame building on this location in 1900. The hotel was described in a 1912 magazine as “modern in every detail, with hot and cold running water in every room.”
Traditions say that Mr. Neely would meet the trains at 4:00am with coffee and sandwiches to promote his hotel. It’s one of Jackson’s only remaining railroad hotels. It was used as a restaurant for some time, but is now an event and office space.
