Historic Brick Home Spared in 1890 Tornado

The Dr. Charles McKinney House in Fayetteville, Tennessee was built in 1820. It’s a central passage federal style home with folk Victorian influences. In 1890, a tornado came through and destroyed the home’s original porch and blew off the roof, but the rest of the home was spared. Dr. McKinney’s brother built a home directly next to this one.
