T to the G to the I to the F!
Another Mandeville, Louisiana pretty old place! Rosedale, also known as the Dufilho-Poitevent House, was built in 1840. It started as a simple 4-room hunting lodge. It was enlarged about 10 years later and again in the 1890s. It was described in a 1905 publication as “fine gardens, and lawns; with fig trees, pear, plum, apple, peach and pecan trees, and the only orange tree bearing in town. As well as two fine flowing artesian wells.”
