Edna Stephenson’s McKenzie, TN Home

I’ve got a historical gem for you today. Old photos – eeeeep, my favorite!⁣

This home in McKenzie, Tennessee was built in 1872. Many would never know it just by looking at all the changes made to it over the years, but if you compare the pictures, you can see the similarities. ⁣

This was home to Edna Stephenson, a noteable educator and photographer in the early 20th century. She was well-known for her beautiful portraits and photographs of The Great War. Though she resided in McKenzie most of her life, she died in Fairhope, Alabama and is buried there.⁣

This home is also currently for sale! $59k! 47 Euclid Avenue. Someone buy her and bring her back to her former glory!⁣

*Historical photos are from the Governor Gordon Weaver Browning Genealogical Library and Museum in McKenzie.⁣
