House is Piece of Franklin History

This home is quite the lasting piece of Franklin history. It was built in 1815 for Josiah Knight. He bought the land for his home in 1812 and built here shortly after.

In the Civil War, the home was used as a hospital during the Battle of Franklin.

And then in the early 1900s, Nell Mosley bought it. She occasionally rented her upstairs rooms to boarders. Usually tobacco farmers who came to town to sell their crops.

It’s now City Farmhouse, a beautiful home goods store. They have even given a nod to Nell and made the upstairs rooms “boarder rooms”, but everything is for sale. They have a lot of primitive antiques and if I could have afforded it, I would have bought everything in this store. So many amazing pieces.

What a treasure this place is at over 200 years old!
