Decatur’s Shadowlawn

Shadowlawn was built in 1874 for Dr. William Gill. It was named for several oaks that tower over the home. Dr. Gill was a prominent physician in town and practiced medicine here for over 50 years. He died caring for patients during the yellow fever outbreak in Decatur in 1888.

I love the Christmas decorations on this one!
