I fell in love with this beautiful old home in Madison, Georgia. (Along with every home in that amazing city)
Don’t let that Victorian look fool you, this home was actually built in 1832 according to tax records. It was built by a local merchant named Alfred Shaw and is now known as the Shaw Erwin House also as “Flora and Fauna”.
It was enlarged and remodeled in 1897 to have that Victorian look. It was given that hipped roofline, the beautiful gingerbread, and turned spindles.
In the late 19th century, the house was used as a school for girls by Sarah Shaw, Alfred’s daughter-in-law.
It’s also currently for sale for $1,185,000. Here’s a link to the listing.
