Shaw Erwin House Madison GA

I fell in love with this beautiful old home in Madison, Georgia. (Along with every home in that amazing city) ⁣

Don’t let that Victorian look fool you, this home was actually built in 1832 according to tax records. It was built by a local merchant named Alfred Shaw and is now known as the Shaw Erwin House also as “Flora and Fauna”. ⁣

It was enlarged and remodeled in 1897 to have that Victorian look. It was given that hipped roofline, the beautiful gingerbread, and turned spindles.⁣

In the late 19th century, the house was used as a school for girls by Sarah Shaw, Alfred’s daughter-in-law. ⁣

It’s also currently for sale for $1,185,000. Here’s a link to the listing.
