The Burroughs-Hazelhurst House, in Brunswick, was constructed sometime in the 1870s. It was built by Dr. William Berrien Burroughs, a prominent physician. He actually built the home for his wife’s unmarried sisters. They were known to the family as “the aunties”.
The house sits on the most beautiful spot overlooking Hanover Square. It’s a wonderful example of Second Empire architecture, complete with mansard roof!
