The McLeod House was built in 1897 for John Angus McLeod. He was a pioneer businessman and one of Hattiesburg’s leading citizens. He operated a mercantile business in the downtown area for over 30 years. This home remained in his family until the 1980s when it was bought by a law firm that still occupies it today.
