It’s craft fair weekend in Bell Buckle! Each year in October, our little town welcomes over 100,000 people to shop all kinds of hand-crafted goodies. (I’m a vendor for the 2nd time this year!) It was cancelled last year and we are thankful to have it back this year! In honor of this momentous occasion, I want to feature one of Bell Buckle’s historic homes.
The Webb Cottage was built in 1868. It was home to Sawney Webb who founded the Webb School here in Bell Buckle in 1870. (It originally began in Culleoka and moved her shortly after.) Parts of the original gate that lined the street still exist in front of the house. The Webb Cottage was featured in Country Kitchen Magazine in 2002.
