I never know what kind of houses I’ll find when I’m out driving around, but I never expected to find this one in a small, rural Tennessee town. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. After some research, I was able to find the owner and even spoke with him about some of the history of it!โฃ

The home is located in little Readyville, Tennessee. It was built in the early 1840s by the Alexander family. It still has 4 original hitching posts out front. You can see two in this picture near the front walkway. They are the cement posts with balls on top.โฃ

It’s been renovated over the years. Additions and changes, but they have done their best to keep all of the original materials and put them right back into the home. And one thing he told me they could never change at all, was the floors.โฃ

The current owners are only the 5th owners. Quite impressive for a home getting close to 200 years old! It’s been loved by each and every owner and seems that it will preserved for years to come. I’m grateful for the current owners sharing all of this with me! One day I hope to stop by and get a peek at the interior. โคโฃ
