Grey Gables in Holly Springs

This house, with its gray stucco and delicate gingerbread trim, is known as Grey Gables. It was built originally in 1848 as a simple Greek Revival residence. It was extensively enlarged and transformed into an Italianate-style mansion in the 1870s. It was the first home in Holly Springs to have indoor plumbing.

I found this picture from the Library of Congress of the inside spiral staircase and isnโ€™t it grand?!
