Taking us back on over to Cannon County, Tennessee today. This is the Brevard-Macon House in Woodbury. This Queen Anne was built in 1896 for William F. Brevard who owned a flour mill just a few hundred yards from the home. He was also a local U.S. Commissioner for Revenue for several years. Wondering where the “Macon” part of the name comes from? E.L. Macon, the brother of county music legend “Uncle” Dave Macon, aquired the home in 1926. He was a freighter and added several outbuildings to the property. This home is certainly a noteable landmark for the town of Woodbury!
