It’s been a bit since I’ve featured an Alabama home, hasn’t it? This Queen Anne is The Borton-Chenault House in Decatur, Alabama. It was built in 1906 and is one of the finest examples of Queen Anne architecture in the city.
It hasn’t always been white. It was painted a deep gray before it was white. It has some leaded and stained glass windows and four ornately carved mantles. The staircase inside, which I could not find a picture of ๐ฉ, was a kit ordered from Sears & Roebuck. If anyone has a picture, let me know!
I’ll take any room in this house as long as it’s in the turret. ๐
