The Lucious Frierson House in Columbia, Tennessee – circa 1876. Mr Frierson was the son of a banking family and was given the land to build his beautiful home as a wedding gift from his father. He co-founded the Columbia Ice Company, Bethel House Hotel, and First National Bank. He also owned the Electric Light and Water Company. This sounds like a really great game of Monopoly! However, when his bank failed, he sold the estate to Dr Robert Pillow. It changed hands many times over the years, serving as an apartment building, flower shop, and even mortuary!
