I came across this old Victorian while avoiding the interstate and hitting the small towns, as I like to do sometimes. I took a few backroads in each to get a feel of the old homes and this one immediatetly caught my eye.
The Charles Madden House was built in 1899 and is located in Tennille, Georgia. It was designed by prolific Georgia architect, Charles E. Choate, and is a modest example of a one (and a half) story Queen Anne. It sits on a lot that was aquired by W. L. Duggan in 1896.
Charles Madden was a mail agent on the Washington and Tennille Railroad. Conveniently, his home was located right across from the tracks. It’s such a quaint and cozy little Victorian and a treasure to the Tennille community!
