Evans House Began as Log Cabin

The Evans House was built in 1845 as a small log cabin. The original log house was used as a kitchen – separate from the main house and was moved near the spring house to build an addition around 1900. It was in the original Evans family from its build date until the 1990s. The Evans family brought peacocks to the property in the 1800s and they remained here until the last family member died here in the 1990s.
